this pain and apprehension is part of the process

it's supposed to feel like shit

transformation so often does 

the crucible burns, twists, contorts

in acceptance one accepts,

with consent one consents.

it is alarming to feel things melt away

and terrifying to know it has to take its time

confusion and fear are features, not bugs
